DÉJÀ is a beautiful, whimsical theatrical play. In a small living room, time shifts from the distant past to far into the future. Characters from different time periods coexist in this space, creating a blend of gatherings, fires, Geiger counters, New Year’s parties, a flooding, arrivals and farewells.
DÉJÀ is physical and visual, full of humor, surprises, and unexpected twists. Through dance, puppetry, magic, and acting, the KRUMPLE presents a powerful and magical journey through time. DÉJÀ is inspired by the award-winning graphic novel Here by Richard McGuire.
The Krumple is an internationally recognized and critically acclaimed performing arts company that creates visually and physically expressive theater through collective processes. Their artistic language balances between the poetic and the blatantly absurd to awaken the audience’s imagination and association. Human beings are a central focus in their performances, as they attempt to look through both ends of the telescope for what is usually unseen.
The company has toured in the USA, UK, France, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, and Norway with productions including Go to Sleep, Goddamnit!, Do Not Feed the Trolls, YŌKAI, Harrison, and DÉJÀ.
